Eugene L Wallace

On June 16, 1940 a son named Eugene Luther Wallace was born to Tommy Roosevelt and Cora Pryor Wallace in Perry County, Alabama.

Eugene Luther confessed Christ at the age of 10 and joined the Poplar Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Melton.

Luther as we called him started his education at a little one room red school house named the Poplar Grove School.  His junior year was spent at Oak Grove School and high school he attended Lincoln High School in Marion, graduated in the year of 1958.  After high school he enrolled in State Vocational Trade School where he obtained a degree in Brick Masonary. which he made this his career He was drafted in the United States Army in 1962 and was Honorably discharged in 1964.  

After his tour of duty with the United States Army he moved to Detroit, MI and married his sweetheart  Geraldine Ford, where they resided for past 52 years. He had many stories he could tell you about his tour of duty. 

Luther worked for Kanfer  Construction  Company and Costella Construction of Detroit, MI.  Luther had many hobbies but he loved gardening and growing his own pretty vegetables, fishing was a great love and also golfing.

He has a soft sly crooked smile on his face, happily communicating with his family and friends.  In fact he was one of the greatest known comedian you have ever known.

At family reunions and other family gathering he would be the main attraction.  His siblings, nephews,  nieces could sit for hours which he entertained them.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents; Tommy Roosevelt Wallace and Cora Pryor   Wallace.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a devoted wife Geraldine Wallace, Detroit, MI; one son, Ronald Lamar Wallace,( Kimberly Curry) Tuscaloosa, AL; four brothers, Tethaniel (Ida) Wallace,  Pleasant Grove, AL, Rev. Lee Andrew (Pearl) Wallace, Marion, AL, Lee Thomas (Susie) Wallace, Montgomery, AL, Richard Wallace, Selma, AL; five sisters, Dorothy (Preston) Hornbuckle, Sprott, AL , Delois (Joseph) Lane, Mortross, VA, Alberta Hollis, Sprott, AL, Pearlie Mae Wallace and Geneva Wallace , Buffalo, NY; one sister in law Fannie Ford, Marion, AL; one  god son, Earl  Lamont Taylor, Detroit, MI; friends, Eliam Ramsey, Tyrone Young, Tommy Heath; golfing buddies, George Hodge, James Eller,  Poncho       Jackson, Frank Rodriques, Detroit, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
