Clyde Carter was born on April 8, 1964 to Columbus Carter, Sr. and the late Mary Emma Carter in Perry County, Alabama. At an early age he confessed his hope in Christ.
Carter’s passion for justice inspired him to become an officer of the law. He served in the cities of Uniontown, Demopolis, Marion and Selma. After many years of dedication, Clyde retired from law enforcement. In April 2016, Carter accepted his call into the ministry under the leadership and guidance of Reverend Henry Christopher Minter of Isabella Missionary Baptist Church where he remained faithful until his death.
Clyde transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama .
He was preceded in death by his loving mother: Mary Emma Carter; five brothers, James David, Ricky Carter, Columbus Carter, Jr., Leo Jackson and Bennie Carter; two sisters, Julia Carlisle and Annie Wells.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: two loving and devoted daughters, Laurell and Aurell Carter, both of Marion, Alabama; an adoring father, Columbus Carter, Sr. of Uniontown, Alabama; three brothers, Johnny (Patricia) Carter of Faunsdale, Alabama, Frank ( Mildred) Carter of Uniontown, Alabama, Timmie (Gloria) Carter of Newbern, Alabama; three sisters, Joan (Warren) Gibson and Geneva (Frank) Smith both of Detroit, Michigan, Melissa Parnell of Washington, DC; one sister-in-law, Mary Carter, Uniontown, Alabama devoted friends; Irene Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dunklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
