Rickey Jerome Turner was born October 18, 1957 in Gadsden, AL to the late Annie Ruth Turner and Preston Hornbuckle. He departed this life on February 6, 2012 at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Rickey confessed Christ and joined Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. S. N. Norwood.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Amelia Rutledge, September 18, 1984 to this union one son was born.
Rick enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a connoisseur of the wild game he hunted. He fed his friends and family and was proud to have his cooking sampled. Rick learned his cooking skills from his father and spent most of his life trying to duplicate them.
He was preceeded in death by his biological mother, Annie Ruth Turner.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife Amelia Turner. Father Preston Hornbuckle, mother Dorothy Hornbuckle. Four sons, Corey (Jennifer) Pearson, McCalla, AL, Nicholas Turner, Robert (Sandra)Rutledge, Marion, AL; Shonnie (Patricia) Rutledge, Selma, AL: one daughter, Melisa (John) Morton, Carterville, GA; 10 Grandchildren; Nine sisters, Stephanie (Charles) Burton, Bertangela Turner, Gadsden, AL; Nancy (Tony) Rayfus, Alpharetta, GA; Phyllis (Gerald) McGhee, Newnan, GA; Pamela Steele, Atlanta, GA; Vanessa Hornbuckle, Tucker, GA; Cynthia Diane, Selma, AL; Paulette (Patrick) Essex, Sprott, AL and Elbonie Hornbuckle, Tucker, GA; Four brothers, Jeff Edwards, Selma, AL; Wade (Betty) Turner , Gadsden, AL; Preston (Debra) Hornbuckle, Jr., Selma, AL; Oliver (Stephanie) Hornbuckle, McDonough, GA. He also leaves to cherish his memories a devoted uncle, Johnny Turner (Janet) who raised him after the death of his mother. A devoted friend Ernie Bagley, the crew at Swindal Construction and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
