Joe Bryant Obituary

Joe Nathan (Nate) Bryant was born February 29, 1960 in Brent, AL. Joe Nathan (Nate) Bryant, of Tuscaloosa, AL  departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at  DCH Regional Hospital.  He was  preceded in death by his mother, Eddie Mae (Andrew) Jones and his father Joe (Sun) Stabler, Jr.

                 Nate joined the Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age.  He began his education in the Perry County School    System.  He graduated from Westside High School in 1979.  After completing high school, he later joined the United States Navy on September 4, 1979.  There, he served as Chief Petty Officer and attended barber school to become a Certified   Master  Barber.  He was later granted an Honorable Discharge on October 6, 1989 after serving 10 years.  He later became a licensed truck driver and worked for various trucking  companies across the nation.  In between stops, Nate would load up his children, nieces and nephews and take them to Tuscaloosa to the movies.  They felt special because of the  attention they received.  He enjoyed spending time with them and making them happy.

 He is survived by a wife, May Bryant of Kissimmee, FL, four   children, sons Shannon (Jennifer) Thomas of  Kissimmee, FL, Sheldon (Carlissa) Bryant of Tampa, FL; and daughters Tashina Bryant of Kissimmee, FL and Brieanne   Bryant of Memphis, TN.  He is also survived by 9 sisters, Brenda Stabler, Sheila Stabler, Barbara Abercrombie, Mary Clark and Loretta Stabler all of Brent, AL, Darlene Edwards and Dutchess Jones of Hoover, AL, Evelyn Greer of Fort Wayne, IN, and Anastasia Reddick of  Tuscaloosa, AL and 7 brothers, Jerry Stabler and Joe Nathan Stabler both of Tuscaloosa, AL, Donzel Stabler of Montevallo, AL, Alvin Stabler, Myrone Driver and Tyrone Driver of Fort Wayne, IN and   Sharandon Jones, Huntsville, AL;  six aunts, Linda   Fleming and Diane (Robert) Cornelius of Benton Harbor, MI, Ezzie Lee Craighead, Annie Maxine Goode, Mary Ann Driver and Lillie Marie Cash all of Brent, AL and one uncle, Otis Wright of Benton Harbor, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by maternal  grandparents Tom Wright, Sr. and Lou  Bertha Wright and paternal grandparents Jeanetter Kidd Stabler and Joe Stabler, Sr.; a brother, Andrew Fowlkes and a sister Renee Stabler.
