Life’s Reflections

Leola Jackson Foster well known as “Shine” and “Ma” was born July 29, 1927 to Viola Jackson and Albert Gooden who preceded her in death.  She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and a matron.

Leola Foster was united in Holy Matrimony to James Marvin Foster, she had twelve children, four who preceded her in death; Robert, Louis, Lee and Willie Ed.

Leola leaves to cherish her memories  eight children;  James (Raye)  of Waukegan, Illinois, Stella (Bobby) of Dothan,  Alabama Doris ( Nathan) of Moundville,  Alabama , Alberta (Mervin) of Greensboro, Alabama , Gloria (Elmore), Julia ( Josephus), Mattie (Van) and Angie all  of  Marion, Alabama ; seven sisters,  Carrie Sewell of Selma,   Alabama, Bettie Hatch of Chicago, Illinois, Phoebe Moore, Birmingham, Alabama, Emma Sewell, Viola Wright, Annie Mae Brooks, Beatrice Ward all of Marion, Alabama; thirty-seven grandchildren; sixty-three great-grand children; twenty two great great grand  children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins  and friends.
