"Mary’becca” was the second child of Jannie Mae Williams {Pullom}. Her father was Louis Russell. She attended Uniontown Negro Elementary School. She did not return to school after an extended illness during the sixth grade. She never married and has no children. She had a remarkable memory of family history, people and events.
In symbol of her dedication to Jehovah, Mary Rebecca Williams was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 4, 1960. She devoted over 100 hours each month, as a regular pioneer, sharing the good news about Jehovah and his Kingdom with those she came in contact with. Most of her service involved walking throughout the area as she never had any transportation (vehicle) of her own. She had the privilege of attending the Pioneer Service School for the 4th time in August 2018. She was known in Uniontown and throughout Perry, Hale, Marengo and Dallas counties as that friendly, gentle, helpful lady with the Watchtower and Awake magazines.
Mary is survived by one sister – Martha Ann Pullom (Joseph) Taylor, and three brothers – Robert L Williams, Birmingham, AL, George (Eddie Mae) Pullom, Uniontown, AL, and James I. (Bernice) Pullom, Faunsdale, AL. Also four neices – Niambi Williams-Rahim, Brooklyn, NY, Tonya Pullom, Doris B Jackson both of Uniontown, AL, and Chantel J. Pullom, Birmingham, AL; and three nephews – Jeremy I. Williams, Birmingham, AL, Samuel B. Pullom, Washington, DC, and George Keaton Pullom, Marion Junction, AL.
