Clyde Carter was born on April 8, 1964 to Columbus Carter, Sr. and the late Mary Emma Carter in Perry County, Alabama.  At an early age he confessed his hope in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother: Mary Emma Carter; five brothers, James David, Ricky Carter, Columbus Carter, Jr., Leo Jackson and Bennie Carter; two sisters, Julia Carlisle and Annie Wells.
