Welcome to the memorial page for

Vera Lee Howze

June 2, 2017

Vera Lee Howze was born to the late Clara Howze of Newbern Alabama on Tues Sept. 10th, 1957. She was born into a family of twelve children - six girls and six boys. Vera was number six. She accepted Christ and was a member of Greenleaf Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her three brothers: Willie J. Howze, Marvin Howze II and Eddie White and her niece, LaTonya Howze.

Vera never met a stranger. She loved people and laughing and talking with them. She made so many friends while at Perry County Nursing Home and was loved by all. She was known for her infectious loud laugh. Everyone that came in contact with her knew her for her playful spirit.  Vera wanted to let all know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer that you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, she can laugh and socialize to her heart’s content, the food will be delicious and most of all there will be a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. And Vera will be so   happy to see her mother, three brothers and niece (Shug, Ed Lee, Mop, Boo and Lady)!

On Friday night June 2nd, she entered into eternal rest at Hale County Hospital. She leaves to honor her memories: five sisters - Sherry (Odean) Garner of Waukegan, Illinois; Jessie (Floyd) Kenny, Arlene Frances Howze of Newbern, Al; Gladys (Willie) Green of Calera, Al. and Earnestine (Eddie) Martin of McDonough, Ga; four brothers - Earl Howze of Newbern, Al; Tony (Heike) Howze of Raeford, North Carolina; Noble Howze of Pflugerville, TX and Bob Williams of Marion, Al. And a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
