Aaron "Peter" Payton

Aaron L. Payton was born November 29, 1939, to Seck and Nellie O’Neal Payton in Perry County, Alabama.  Aaron answered the Lords call on February 1, 2023, at Northport DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Aaron joined Morning Star Baptist Church at an early age and later joined the Freewill Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He was a graduate of Lincoln School.

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents Seck and Nellie Payton; brothers, David Payton, and Theotis Payton; Sisters, Jackie Tubbs and Annie Moore.

Aaron has left to cherish his memories; a loving devoted wife, Mary Payton; children, Sandra Kay Earl, Pamela (Tony) Wynn, Rhonda Jo Payton, Terry Payton, Carolyn Walter, Julia (Charles) Sanders, Michelle (Larry) Jackson, Felicia (Andre) Morgan, Nina (Luther) Smalls; 34 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Payton,; sister in laws, Gloria Shears, Freda Hatten, Ollie Payton; brother in law, James Campbell and a host of other relatives and friends.
