Amelia Rutledge was born May 16, 1955, in Marion, Alabama to Simp and Martha Rutledge. She departed this life on February 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Providence Baptist Church and later joined Trinity Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was an active member and served on various auxiliaries including the Usher Board, Matrons, Food Committee and also attended Sunday School regularly. She was an active member of the charity organization Helping Hands. She was also the “Queen of Cooking.” She loved cooking for her family and friends. She united in holy matrimony to the late Robert E. Reed and to this union three children were born: Shonnie, Melisa and Robert. In 1984, she united with the late Rickey J. Turner and to this union one son was born: Nicholas. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving father and mother-in-law, Preston and Dorothy Hornbuckle of Sprott, Alabama; four sons, Shonnie Rutledge, Robert Rutledge (Sandra) of Marion, Alabama, Nicholas Turner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Corey Pearson (Jennifer) of McCalla, Alabama; one daughter, Melisa (John) Morton of Carterville, Georgia; two sisters, Mattie Lapsley and Shirley Rutledge of Marion, Alabama; 13 grandchildren; 13 sisters-in-law, Stephanie Burton (Charles), Bertangela Turner of Gadsden, Alabama, Nancy Rayfus of Alpharetta, Georgia, Phyllis McGhee of Newnan, Georgia, Pamela Steele of Atlanta, Georgia, Vanessa Hornbuckle of Tucker, Georgia, Diane Hornbuckle of Selma, Alabama, Paulette (Patrick) Essex of Sprott, Alabama, Elbonie (Willie) Preston, Victoria Rutledge of Detroit, Michigan, Louise (Sam) Sanders, Wanda Sanders of Marion, Alabama and Webbie (Johnny) Calhoun of Selma, Alabama; five brothers-in-law, Jeff Edwards, Preston (Debra) Hornbuckle of Selma, Alabama, Wade (Betty) Turner of Gadsden, Alabama, Oliver (Stephanie) Hornbuckle of McDonough, Georgia and Ronald Passage of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
