Anthony Lamontz Nelson was born August 21, 1974 to the late William E. Nelson and Mary Melton Nelson.
Anthony confessed Christ at an early age and joined Springhill Baptist Church. He later joined the Independent Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Howell.
Anthony graduated from Bibb County High School and Lawson State Community College. He served for 12 years in the Army National Guard. He worked for 20 years as a correctional officer at Bibb Correctional Facility until his retirement.
Anthony united in holy matrimony to Danetta Tinsley. Their extended family consisted of four children and four grandchildren.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Warren, William and Douglas Nelson.
Anthony departed his early home on December 25, 2024. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Danetta Nelson of Marion, Alabama; sons, Khalil (Nechole) Nelson, Fairbanks, Alaska; and Anthony Nelson, Jr. of Marion, Alabama; bonus children, Charis (Tyrone) Jones of Calera, Alabama and Antonio (Stephanie) Johnson of Pensacola, Florida; bonus grandchildren, Jayla, Amber, Samari and Anthony; sisters, Shirlene Cash of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Rosa Nelson of Malaga, New Jersey, Glenda Jimerson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jacqueline (Bruce) Rutledge, of Brent, Alabama, Frances (Alex) Offlee, of Loranger, Lousiana, Leisa (John) Ford of Brent, Alabama, Sherri (Todd) Daniel of Grovetown, Georgia; brother, Naaman (Sheree) Underwoodof Birmingham, Alabama; mother in law, Inez Tinsley of Sweetwater, Alabama; sister in laws, Chiquita (David) Fuller of Vance, Alabama, Celeste (Clyde) Patterson of Sweetwater, Alabama, Danita Coleman of Livingston, Alabama, Crystal (Gary) Curtis of Calera, Alabama; brother in law, Stanley Tinsley; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
