We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Melvin Miller Funeral Service
Mrs. Bertha Mae Walter Gray was born February 24, 1938, to the late Dave and Ozella Walter in Marion, Alabama. She confessed hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Green Liberty Baptist Church. Later in life, she joined Lily Grove Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health failed.
Bertha attended Green Liberty Baptist School in Marion, and Harrell’s Crossroads in Marion Junction, Alabama.
A very dedicated, loving, faithful wife and stay-at-home mother, Bertha loved her soap operas, game shows, and especially her Lifetime Movies. Her greatest joy came from having fun times with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members. She was a quiet and humble soul, known for her sweet signature smile.
Bertha was a devoted and loving wife for 36 years to Raymond Gray, who preceded her in death, and was a great mother to 12 children.
She was also preceded in death by both of her parents, five children, sister, Callie Walter Rand; four brothers, David, Elner, Howard, and George Walter; grandson, Jacquez Fields; and four nephews, Rodney, Johnny, Santray, and Legend Walter.
