Carl Evans Obituary

Mr.  Carl Frederick Evans, was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Johnnie Evans on July 10, 1957 in Marion, Alabama.  Carl F. Evans 62, transitioned from earth to heaven, on September 2, 2019 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL.

 

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama.  Later in life joined Gospel Tabernacle Church of God In Christ, Selma, Alabama where he served faithfully until his health failed.

 

He was a graduate of Westside High School class of 1975 and Wallace Community College Selma Class of 2016, where he graduated with honors.  He continued his education at Selma University maintaining a 4.0 GPA until his  health failed.  He was very active in the community of Selma helping anywhere needed both known and unknown.

 

He was a father, brother, and friend to many.  He was preceded in  death by his parents Johnnie and Maggie Bell Evans, son, Ryan Frederick Evans, Sister, Myrle  Ann Evans , brother      William “Moot” Evans, and a special niece Melinda Martin.

 

He leaves to cherish many fond memories a devoted daughter, Tashara Evans, Selma, Alabama; three sons,  Carlos Evans, Roderick (Killiley) Evans, Decorin (Ashley) Evans all of  Tuscaloosa, AL; others he had a significant impact on and were very close to him were LaNitra Scott (Ramone) Riverdale,   Georgia, Rashard Scott (Kenyetta) of Selma, Alabama, Patience Norfleet of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Ke’Nhiya Wright of  Columbia, South Carolina; six brothers, James Evans of  Whitehall, Ohio, Madison (Joanne) Evans of Phenix City,  Alabama, Rufus (Joanna) Evans of Marion, Alabama, Donald (Trina) Evans of Oxford, Alabama, Bruce Evans of St. Louis, Missouri, and Eric (Cynthia) Evans of McCalla, AL; six sisters, Classie (Jack) Scott of Marion, Alabama, Olivia Evans of St. Louis, Missouri, Rebecca Rollins of Marion, Alabama, Maxine (Jack) Walls of St. Louis, Missouri, Linda Mackey of Clementon, New Jersey, and Cathy (Rev. Lue Gene) Wright of Marion, Alabama ; Three sister-in-laws, Punnie Evans and  Carolyn Essex both of Marion, Alabama, Juanita Irby of  Antioch, Tennessee, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Two special nieces, Alesia Wright and Pamela Sewell Boyd; special friends, Marion Phillips, Shirley Alexander, Mary Johnson, Betty Scott, Sam Black, Frank Nelson, Ted Smith, and Samuel Spears.
