Carrie Mae McClenney

Carrie McCleenney was born January 24, 1921 and departed this life on December 18, 2020.  She was the eldest born to Lela Bell and James Tilman.  She was preceded in death by two siblings; William Henry and Alma Thompson, her parents, and her husband Willie McClenney .

Carrie gave her life to Christ at an early age and join Green Liberty Baptist Church and work diligently in her community.  She was selected at the age of seventeen to be missionary for the Hamburg and Vilula District and she was also a wonderful Sunday School  Teacher.  She married the late Willie McClenney after working several years in Marion, Alabama.  She and her husband Willie relocated to Miami, Florida where she worked for Dr. George Jacobson.  She later returned to Bessemer, Alabama to assist her sister Alma with their ailing mother.

Carrie (AKA) Wilma enjoyed garden and well known by her awesome sewing skills. Her smiles loving ways and kind heart will always be remembered by  two sister-in-laws; Mattie Casey of Miami, Florida and Minnie Pearl McClenney of Marion Junction, Alabama and many friends and family.
