Mr. Chester Benson, Jr. aka Doug /Hollywood was born on September 1, 1953 in Marion, Alabama to Mr. Chester Benson, Sr. and Velma Benson. He transitioned from this life on January 30, 2023 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
He confessed Christ at an early age at the Berean Baptist Church where he served faithfully as chairman of the Trustee Board, Senior Usher, and member of the Male Chorus for numerous years.
He attended the Lincoln Normal School and transferred to Francis Marion High School where he graduated.
He worked as an orderly and was a truckdriver for over 27 years until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 49 years Hattie Benson of Marion, Alabama; one son, Tracy Ford of Greensboro, Alabama; one daughter, Reneatha Martin of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers, Lee A. Benson (Rita), Ronald A. Benson both of Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Jennifer Billingsley of Marion, Alabama; two adopted sisters, Lucy Moore (Timothy) and Mary Bennett (Willie) of Marion, Alabama; one sister in law, Ella Stiles Suttles (Harvey) of Marion, Alabama; special niece, Nikitta Yelder of Montgomery, Alabama; special cousins, Lucy Morgan (Keith) of Minnesota; five grandchildren; one special friend, Will Rogers, and a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
