Mr. Clarence “ Sonny” Hatch was born January 17, 1939 in Perry County, Alabama to the late Theodore Hatch and Mary Alice Sheppard. He departed this life on May 13, 2018 at Vaughn Regional Hospital , Selma, Alabama. Early on he confessed Christ and joined the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Perry County, Alabama. He later joined the Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and faithfully until his death. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy C. Hatch and one sister, Alice Green.
“Sonny” lived in Detroit, Michigan for over 35 years. He retired from Northville Down Race Track before moving back to Marion, Alabama in 2000.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Josephine Hatch; children, Janet Brown, (Chattanooga, Tennessee) Kenneth (Constance) Hatch, Sr., (Vaccaville, California) Clarence Cole, (Columbus, Ohio) Dewight (Debra) Cole (Taylor, Michigan) Pamela (Richard) Grusnick, (Wetumpka, Alabama) and Lue Jackson, (Marion, Alabama).
Thirteen grandchildren, Kimberly, Michelle, Kayla, Kenneth Sr., Trinter,Cera, Gabriel, Brandon, Sam, Brandon G., Terrence, David and Izabel; 9 great grand children ; 3 sisters, Evelyn Turner (Marion, Alabama); Frances Core ( Gadsden, Alabama) and Louise Robinson, (Hartford, Connecticut); five sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
