Darryl Lyndon Smith was born on, November 8, 1964 to Washington L. Smith and Thelma O. Smith in Marion, AL. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Nebo AME Zion Church.
Darryl graduated from East Perry High School in 1983, where he was the Senior Class President. Darryl completed his schooling at ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, IN where he received his license as a Master Mechanic. Darryl’s love for this trade afforded him the opportunity to service people worldwide and become a well-known artisan in the mechanical field.
Darryl had a passion for being around family and friends. Darryl was indeed, “The Life of the Party” at any event. Darryl was a loving, caring, supportive, and selfless, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will truly be missed.
Darryl departed his life in the most peaceful manner at his home on, Saturday, April 6, 2024. Darryl is preceded in death by his parents Washington and Thelma Smith, his Grandmother Rosell Martin, and Aunt Rosa Martin.
Darryl leaves to cherish his loving memories: Stepmother, Rosa L. Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, 6 children; Terrance Griffin (Nicole) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Kenya Scott of Montgomery, AL, Tosha Griffin, Tiffany Smith, Tongela Smith, all of Marion, AL, LaDarius Smith of Tuscaloosa, AL, 5 siblings; Beverly Mitchell of Fort Wayne, IN,Lorenzia Smith(Christine) of Auburn, AL, Pastor Barbara England(Rev. Micheal) of Sprott, AL, Shaunda Smith of Uniontown, AL, Anglaique Gail Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 special cousins, Joseph Mahone and Rickey Martin, whom he considered as brothers, a special Uncle Joseph Martin, 2 special friends, Angela Salter and Muwwakkil (Rock) Shabazz, and wife Sabrina Smith. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who he loved and loved him dearly.
