Dorothy Heard

Dorothy Jane Heard was born on September 26, 1937 to Walter and Ellen Parker in    Marion, Alabama.  She grew up as a fun loving child and confessed Christ at an early  age.  She married Mr. Aubrey Heard of Sprott, Alabama.  She remained strong in her faith her entire life.  Later joining Friendship Baptist Church, serving faithfully until  her health began to fail, she departed this life on December 24, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Aubrey Heard; two of her children, Lester Parker and Audra Parker; two sisters, Rosaline Logan and Rose Shutz.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Patricia Walker of Birmingham, Alabama, Katherine Green (Willie)  and  Mary Heard (Wayne) of Selma, Alabama,  Bernard Heard and Ellen Heard of Marion, Alabama; 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was a person of strong faith, always seeing the positive in any situation. She was a shining light in our life, and will be greatly missed.
