Mr. Drake Allen Wright was born on March 15, 1963, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Seacy Wright in Marion, Alabama. Drake passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Arlington Health and Rehabilitations, Birmingham, Alabama.
Drake confessed Christ at an early age and joined Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Marion, Alabama. He attended Francis Marion High School and went on to have various occupations including becoming one of the best truck drivers in the City of Marion. Drake loved his family, fishing, clowning, and was a jokester.
Drake was preceded in death by his father, Searcy Wright; mother, Viola Wright; sisters, Kathy and Deanese Wright; wife, Barbara Ann Bates Wright; two nieces, one great nephew, and one step-son.
Drake leaves to cherish his memories: his loving daughters, Aaliyah Richardson, Daughters, Laureen Bates, Christal (Bryan) Barr, and Drakina Evans; stepsons, Corrie (Marsha) Bates, Carlton (Anginet) Bates, Anthony (Tyra) Bates, Frank Bates, Adam Bates; three brothers, Lorenzo Wright, Reginald (Vongelica) Wright, Jessie Mosley, one sister, Shirley Faye Abrams of Selma, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and close friends.
