Eliam Lee Ramsey, Sr. was born December 24, 1931, to Eliam Parish and Bessie Ford Ramsey in Marion, Alabama. Eliam also had a younger sibling, Robert Ramsey.
As a child, Eliam had a huge epicurean delicacy in honey where he took such great delight; Honey, Honey, Honey. You would think he was Winnie the pooh. His mother Bessie soon called him “Honey”. Now his nickname was born and that’s what everyone and anyone that knew him, called him.
Eliam met his wife Nettie Mae Melton and they moved to the Motor City. To this union seven children were born.
Eliam was later drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean War, where he received an honorable discharge. He returned to Detroit, Michigan, and joined the “Big Three” workforce and began employment with General Motors Chevrolet Division where he worked for thirty years and retired.
Eliam was very fond of western movies, telling old wise tales, and playing with his guitar.
