Emma Jean Hawkins was born on July 9, 1953 to the late Mrs. Lorene Moore and Mr. Jessie Lee Moore. She departed her life on September 27, 2020 leaving an unforgettable impact on her family, and friends that she encountered.
Emma was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Moore; one sister, Lelia Mae Moore; one child, Sam Ronald Hawkins.
Emma gave her life to Christ, at an early age at Provewell Baptist Church. She later joined Old Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Melton.
Emma leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Sammie Lee Nelson; five children, Joyce Hawkins, Timothy (Kiesha) Hawkins, Cardell Hawkins, Jennifer Hawkins, Andrew (Latocque) Hawkins all from Marion, Alabama; two sisters, Sarah Suttles, and Serenia Moore of Marion, Alabama; four brothers, John (Louise) Moore of Maplesville, Alabama, Jessie Moore of Sprott, Alabama, Clarence (Betty) Moore of Phenix, Alabama, David (Caldonia) Moore of Dothan, Alabama; eighteen grandchildren, one special great grandchild Mary’Ana Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
