Ernest "Ray" L Stevenson, Jr

Ernest Lee Stevenson, Jr. better known to all as Ray was born October 21, 1976 in Merrillville, Indiana to Ernest L. Sr. and Marilyn K. Stevenson.  He went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2022.

Ray was a happy person.  He loved to go places and he was a lover of music. Being able to come to work with his mom at Yanna’s Flowers and Gifts he laughed, he smiled and he even tried to sing and make joyful sounds.  Ray just seemed to be a ray of sunshine.  The theme for his 40th birthday party was, “ You Light Up My Life:”.  He was loved by many and an encouragement to all.  He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Sr.; two brothers, Nathaniel Edward Stevenson and Antonio Dion Stevenson; grandparents, Eld. Charles and Sarah Robinson and Mr. Lee E. and Lela Mae Stevenson; three Uncles and one Aunt.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and caring mother Marilyn Evans;  three brothers, Frederick (Ytearie) Stevenson, Antwan Stevenson, and Thomas Evans, Jr.; five sisters, Sonya (Ron) Anderson, Sharon (Jesse) Holifield, Lawanda Evans, Valerie Evans and Shauntell (Ferlando) Valentine; seven nieces; one nephew; three uncles; seven aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
