Hugh Lee Sanders

God breathe a breath of life on Earth into Hugh Lee sanders Sr. on  August 21, 1949 in Marion AL where he was born to the late Eugene Sanders and Marie Wilson. Although death was untimely, we celebrate the life of Mr. Hugh Lee Sanders Sr. 

Hugh was raised in loving Christian home and accepted Christ at an   early age. He demonstrated his love for God when he joined Union    Baptist Church in Marion, AL under the Pastorship of the late Rev. D.V. Johnson, formally now Rev. Richard Bryant. He served faithfully as the Church deacon for over 50 years until his demise.

At the age of 14, he fell in love and married his childhood sweetheart the late Eloise Sanders. They were married for 53 years until her death in December of 2020.

Hugh worked at Marion Military Institute for 50 plus years where he  later became a superintendent managing the Building and Grounds                Department where he later retired. He was known by many in the                      community as a kind-hearted, hard working individual who was always willing to help anybody.  While employed and up until his death, he      carried various part-time jobs, with one being the custodian for Siloam Baptist Church and Marion Academy.

Sunset came on Sunday April 2021 when Hugh departed this life for his new heavenly home

During Hugh’s season, He was preceded in death by his wife Eloise Sanders; son Hugh Lee Sanders Jr.; brothers Robert Sanders, Eugene Sanders Jr. , John Sanders, Columbus Sanders, John Allen Sanders,   Curtis Sanders and Tommie Lee Sanders; Sisters, Martha King,  Margaret Barnes, Minnie Lee Adams and Earlene Perry,

He leaves to cherish his memory: (1) Son, Joshua Sanders (4) Daughters, Ethel (Lue Gerald) King, Wanda Owens, Ellena (Larry) Tabb and  Angela Evans ,Tuscaloosa, AL; 17 Grandchildren, 4 Great  Grandchildren Three brothers:  Jerry Sanders, Eugene (Chmetia)   Sanders, Norman (Luenette) Sanders, Annie Billingsley, Viola( J.C.) Fralin and Judith Hatch as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
