Mr. Jack Scott, Jr. was born June 23, 1939 to the late Jack Scott, Sr. and Ella Scott in Marion, Alabama. He confessed Christ as a young adult and joined the New Fellowship Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for many years and was chairman of the deacon board for a number of those years.
He was employed at Perry County Nursing Home for forty-one years, while also maintaining employment at College City Drugs. He was employed at College City Drugs until his health began to decline in 2021.
He married Classie Evans on November 3, 1967 and to this union four children were born. The youngest Robin Renee, preceded him in death as an infant. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Classie; three daughters, Jackie Elaine Scott (Calera, Alabama), Chicondra Lynn (Larry) Williams, (Marion, Alabama), Anita Michelle Scott (Calera, Alabama); one god-daughter Annie (Michael) Russell (Marion, Alabama); three grandchildren, Larry Williams, Jr. (Kendra), Ashley Nicole Scott, Lara Elyse Williams, and one great granddaughter, Kava McKenzie Williams; one sister, Josephine Conethen, one sister , Lola Mae Scott preceded him in death; two nephews, Kareem Conethan and William Conethan; two nieces Annette McGuire and Treena Jackson both of Georgia; one niece, Joanne Conethan preceded him in death; one uncle, Stanley Holifield, Sr.; one aunt, Dora Holifield. He also leaves to cherish his memory, eight brothers-in-law; ten sisters-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jack was a devoted family man and he said on more than one occasion “Don’t mess with my grandchildren and you won’t have a problem with me.”
