Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith was born July 16, 1942 to Jake and Nellie Smith in Dallas County, Alabama.

He confessed Christ  at an early age and joined Second Baptist Church, Selma, Alabama.

He preceded his parents: Jake and Nellie  Smith ; three sisters, Josephine Craig, Etta Richardson and Lillie Mae Dial; one daughter, Jennie Smith.

He leaves to cherish  his memories; four daughters, Shirley Smith, Barbara Smith, Janice McBride, Dorothea McBride; six sons,  Joseph (Annie) Savage, Joseph Lewis, Joseph (Darnella)  McBride, Joseph Smith, William McBride and Myles (Sara) Savage; one brother, Rev. Frank Smith; three sisters, Nancy (Henry) Crawford, Nellie Strong, Mattie (James) Mays; a host of grandchildren,  great-grand children, great- great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
