Josie Harris Sanders was born August 20, 1957 to the late Phillip Hines and Joann Harris Hines. She departed her life on April 5, 2020 leaving an unforgettable impact on her family friends, and all that she encountered. Josie was also preceded in death by her brothers: Timmy, Brady, Roosevelt, Encoch, Bennie, and LeCurtis and one sister, Judy.
Josie gave her life to Christ at an early age at Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. F. D. Craig. She later joined Trinity Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B. L. Tucker. As a member of Trinity, she served as a devoted President of the Matrons and Usher Board for many years.
Josie graduated from Francis Marion High School class of 1976. She worked tirelessly in the community as a founding member of the civic organization “Greater Good of Perry County” where she served as secretary. Josie worked for the Perry County School System for 20 plus years before retiring.
