Lawrence E Brand

Mr. Lawrence Edward Brand, Sr. was born November 30, 1957 in Marion, Alabama to the late Otha and Louise Brand. Early in life Lawrence confessed hope in Christ and joined the Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church. Lawrence graduated from West Side High School in Marion, AL. He loved playing basketball and was a star player on the basketball team. Lawrence later attended Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Lawrence was jack of all trade. He was employed with the Asplundh Tree Expert Company the Demopolis Branch until his retirement. Lawrence departed this life on October 25, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama. He was preceded in death by her parents Otha and Louise Brand; siblings, Edward Brand, Betty Tubbs, Joyce Austin, Sandra Brand and a nephew, Chester Brand. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife Rebecca Brand of Marion, Alabama, two sons Lawrence (Stephanie) Brand, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama and Brandon (Sharifa) Rutledge of Madison, Alabama; three grandchildren Jacqueline, Lauren and Azayah; a brother Dennis (Tamela) Brand, Sr. of Headland, Alabama; a father-in-law Robert Ward, Sr. of Silver Springs, Maryland; two sister-in-law, Dorothy Brand of Chicago, Illinois and Angela Brown of Moundville, Alabama; four brothers-in-law; Robert Tubbs of Marion, Alabama, Clifton Austin of Birmingham, Alabama, Robert Ward and Eugene Ward of Moundville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
