Lee Ernest Loveless was born on July 4,1956 in Butler County, Alabama.
He was the son of the late Zannie and Laura Loveless. Growing up, Lee was one of five children. Lee’s family did not have much materially, but his mother cultivated a lifelong love of family and Christ and an appreciation for hard work. These values were evident in Lee’s life, especially in the joy and dedication that he showed to his church.
Lee served the COGIC church on the national, state, district, and local levels and was an ordained deacon. Some knew him lovingly as the “praying deacon.” One of his most cherished joys was Monday Night Prayer. Even in his illness, his focus and motivation was the church body. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran and also worked at Bush Hog as a welder for over 15 years.
Lee was preceded in death by his brother Zannie Jr. and is survived by his sister-in-love, Patricia. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis (Greenville, Al.) and Jerry (Jacksonville, FL.) and baby sister Laura Mae (Greenville, Al.).
His daughter, Judy Ann Loveless-Morris and son-in-love Bryan Morris, along with his three grandsons, Malachi (Mally), Titus (Ty), and Solomon (Solo) will cherish his memories and carry on his legacy. He was equally close to, and loved all his nieces, nephews, and other relatives, church family and friends.
He was a beloved friend, brother, grandfather, and most of all father. Lee “Ernie” Loveless had a bright smile. His laugh was contagious. His words healing and encouraging. He was an all around great guy.
Deacon Loveless lived and ended his life with his favorite quote, “I owe God a praise!”
