Lloyd Everette Peterson, Jr. transitioned from this life on the evening of September 14, 2020 at the Druid City Hospital, (DCH), Tuscaloosa, Alabama surrounded and supported by his loving family. Lloyd was born in Marion, Alabama to Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd and Emma Peterson, Sr. His father preceded him in death.
The Peterson Family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Lloyd confessed Christ and joined the Community Baptist Church of Fort Wayne where he was ordained a deacon in 2003. He later moved back to Alabama and joined the Friendship Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama under the leadership of Reverend Bruce Henderson where he served until he was called to move on up to his heavenly home.
In 1981, he joined the United States Army, honorably served for four years, then joined the Fort Wayne National Guard. After moving back to Alabama, Lloyd found employment in several transit positions, with his last one being with the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. “Roll Tide!”
He leaves to cherish his many loving memories: A beloved wife, Sallie J. Peterson and a loving mother, Emma R. Peterson both of Tuscaloosa, AL. Three children: Treasure- Ft. Wayne, IN, Joycelyn, and Justin-Tuscaloosa, AL. One grandson: Treriah - Ft. Wayne; two granddaughters: Jaliyah and Jordyn -Tuscaloosa. Two sisters: Gwendolyn and Brenda Peterson—Ft. Wayne, IN. Four brothers-in law and four sisters-in law. A very close and special cousin-Violet Nelson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.
