Madison Sims

Madison Shaque Sims was born October 7, 2005 to Miyko Sims and Wesley Kynard.  She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church of Marion, Alabama.  Madison departed her physical home and returned to God in her heavenly home on April 15, 2023 in a tragic car accident along with her special friend and prom date Samuel Brown, Jr.

Madison radiated joy everywhere she went.  This joy was exemplified through her artistic gifts and vibrant smile.  She enjoyed styling hair, shopping and designing fashion.

Madison was a Junior at Paul W. Bryant High School where she was a member of the track team, marching band and enrolled in dual enrollment studies cultivating her craft of cosmetology. 

Madison’s memories will forever be cherished by her parents:  Miyko Sims (Marcus Powell) and Wesley Kynard (Jaye Gary); siblings, Cayden Parker, Marley Powell, Amir Collins, Madison Powell, Marcus Powell, Jr., Karhonda Brooks, Tre’mon Tubbs, Wesley Tubbs, Azarria Kynard, Maurice Curry and Tyler Curry; Grandparents: Jaqueline Sims (Johnny Stevenson), Reverend Oscar (Katie) Ford and Rita (Bobby) Smith; Great-grandmothers: Nellie Foster and Bernice Kynard; Aunt: Sherika Sims; Uncles:  LaTorre Sims, Jarell Ford, Terrell Ford, Darnell Foster and Justin Kynard; Great Aunts and Uncles:  Robert Sims, Deborah (Lovell) Lapsley, Norman Sims, Gloria (Willie) King, Tanya (Johnny) Underwood, Cassandra (John) Easley, Reginald Brooks and Roslyn Brooks and special cousin Kennedi Sims.  Madison’s memories will also be cherished by special friends ShaTeidra Underwood, DeAsia Hamner, Martaja Powell and Taylor Watson along with extended family, friends, classmates and others.
