Minnie Lee Jackson Cook was born to the late Mr. Alonzo and Mrs. Alberta Fritz Jackson on November 12, 1948 in Marengo County, Alabama. Minnie departed this life on April 6, 2021 after a short illness at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
In her spare time Minnie enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends and sitting outside in the sunshine. If she had it you had it. This was her true anthem of life. Cooking and feeding others made her the happiest. She loved to see others enjoy her cooking. Minnie enjoyed singing and praising God to all her favorite gospel songs.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband. Mr. Varites Cook Jr of Selma, Alabama; two daughters Shelia Dianne Cook (Kenji) Mason of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and LaToya E. Cook (King) Tolbert, of Selma, Alabama; two grandchildren Breyanna A’niyah Mason and Jayden Montavious Tolbert; two sisters, Martha Jackson and Loverne Jackson of Selma, Alabama; five brothers, Theodore (Hattie) Jackson of Boston Massachusetts, James Jackson, Fred (Belinda) Jackson of Selma, Alabama, Matthew( Monika) Jackson of Furth Germany, Tom (Rosie) Jackson of Selma, Alabama, ; two special nieces Danielle (Carl) West and Jasmine Jackson, of Selma, Alabama; three special nephews, Earnest (Erika) Mims, Antwaon (Kimberly) Jackson, Khalil Jackson, Selma, Alabama.
Special friends, we know you miss her phone conversation, or how you would drop in to check on her, or the meet and greets that was shared. Although you loved her dearly, and you know that she was a fighter, but God has told her it’s time to rest now. Hold tight to the memories for comfort and continue to lean on each other for strength. Goodbyes are not forever and not the end; it simply means She’ll miss you till you meet again.
