Mrs. Eola Louise King Hogue was born November 20, 1937, to the late James & Lucy King in Sprott, Alabama. She was the 3rd child born to this union. She departed this life on February 24, 2026
. Eola was educated in the Perry County School Systems, and she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. She was an active participant in the Lincolnite Club. It was at Lincoln where she met her love, Jeffie Hogue, and they married soon after graduation on June 9th, 1957. To this union seven children were born.
Eola was a devoted child of GOD. Her Christian journey began at an early age when she accepted Christ as her Saviour. Initially she was a member at Eagle Grove Baptist, then she later joined the Hopewell Baptist Church after marriage. For years she enjoyed serving as a delegate for the Hopewell Baptist District Association and she would give reports from the meetings. She also held roles as an Usher, Deaconess and Sunday School teacher at church. Eola loved sporting a hat, high-high heels, and a purse to church most Sundays. She was a dedicated servant to the LORD and to her church until her health recently failed.
“Bae-Bae” as some would call her, was a classy woman of integrity and great character. She loved people and was always willing to provide others with words of encouragement and wisdom. Sometimes she would add a touch of humor to the conservation. The words and phrases she created should have been added to the Webster’s Dictionary! She also had a great work-ethic. Even though she was a homemaker, she helped her husband with his part-time farming business by helping him maintain the farm while also raising seven children. She also loved flowers and had a green thumb, making every garden she touched bloom beautifully.
“Bae-Dear/Ma-Dear” loved her family and they loved her. She was a caring wife to her husband and was there for him when he needed her the most. She was a great mother to her children and grandchildren. She made sure her children went to two places: school and church. She was always concerned about their well-being, even after they reached adulthood. She represented what a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and cousin should be. Ma-Dear will be truly missed, but her legacy and memories will be cherished by children- Jeff Jr., Kenith (Natalie), Ethel (Anthony) Evans, James, & Sonya (Angelo) Tinker. Grandchildren; Marlin (Pamela), Larissa, Demetrius, Aysha Evans, & Langston. Great grandchildren; Nalani, Nayeli, & Genesis Aviana Willingham; Brother - Malachi King; Sister-in-law- Norma Jean Hogue; Brother-in-law- Willie Atkins. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Eola will be reunited with the loved ones who have gone before her. Her husband Jeff Hogue; parents James & Lucy King; siblings; Patsy Brown, Lucy Mae King, James Talvin King, Jr. and Herman King. Her children: David Hogue and infant daughter Eola Leonitine Hogue; Father and Mother-in-law; Isaiah & Eleanor Hogue and several other loved ones
. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy; 4:7-8.
