Rosa Lee Smith was born on October 2, 1940, to the late Willie King and Nathaniel Fisher. On December 23, 2024, at the age of 84, Rosa departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Brenda Joyce Johnson, her husband John Smith, her sister Elizabeth Maresette, and her brothers Clyde Bady, Arthur King, and James Smith.
From a young age, Rosa accepted Christ into her life, a faith she carried with her throughout her journey. She worked diligently at the American Candy Factory, where she retired after many years of dedicated service.
Rosa was known for her love of life and the joy she brought to family and friends. Her late special cousin, Walter Logan, whom she considered a brother, held a unique place in her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters JoAnn Smith of Brooklyn, NY, and Carolyn Ulmer of Hopewell, VA; a special niece, Sondra Turner of Hopewell, VA and a special nephew, George D. Thomas of Seattle, WA; special cousins Edrena Logan and Bernard Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were blessed by her presence.
Rosa’s warmth, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
