Roy Phillips Obituary

Roy D. Phillips was born on June 20, 1959 to the late Monroe and Joan C. Price in Marion, Alabama he departed this life on September 12, 2021.

Roy confessed to Christ as his personal Savior at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. After graduating high school, he began working at Griffin Wood Logging Company in Marion, Alabama.  He later moved to Chicago, Illinois to do his real passion of work and that was fixing cars.  He did later move back to Marion, Alabama where he began working as a Bouncer/Bodyguard at Freeman Hall Lounge.  Before his retirement in 2004 he worked for Johnny Kynard Logging  Company and Michael Kynard Logging Company in Greensboro, Alabama.  His hobbies were watching college football and doing outdoor activities.

Roy is preceded in death by his Parents Monroe and Joan C. Price; one sister Josephine P. Heard.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Tracey Robina Jones of Moody, Alabama; four grandchildren, Micaela Alease Griffin, Trashun Larue Griffin, Makyle Benjamin Jones and India Key’MoraaAli Griffin all of Moody, Alabama; special great-nephew Justin Xavier Phillips of Marion, Alabama; one brother,   Herbert A. Reed of   Gulfport, Mississippi; one sister, Alfreda R. Phillips of Marion, Alabama; three nephews,  Kenneth (Claudia) Heard and Quinton Heard of Sprott, Alabama, Oliver Heard of Tuscaloosa,  Alabama; four nieces, Kalissa (Derrick) Shaw, Sr. ,Olivia Heard of Alabaster, Alabama, Felicia Phillips and Alesia Phillips of Marion, Alabama a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. He was called Big Unc, Uncle Roy and Wolfman by man people that love him

 He was a devoted son, father, grandfather and uncle.
