Sarah Wright Obituary

Sarah Wright was born on January 15, 1930, in Marion, Alabama to the union of the late Oliver Jackson and Anna Moore Jackson. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Hopewell Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death. She departed her earthly home on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at Perry County Rehabilitation. On January 16, 1949, she married the love of her life, Rev. Jerry Wright. To this union, eight children were born. When her husband was called into the  ministry and became a Pastor, she traveled with him to and from the different churches until he was called home to glory on March 1, 2001.

Sarah loved cracking jokes making people laugh and smile. She loved going to the Hopewell District Sunday School Conventions as well as the Hopewell District Association.  The Alabama State  Sunday School and Women's Convention. She taught her children how to farm so we would have fresh garden food to eat. Her love for flowers, quilting and sewing, cooking, canning, and baking will forever be in our hearts.

Sarah raised her children with love and devotion. She is survived by her seven children - Anna Bell Wright and Jerry Dean Boykins of Waukegan, Illinois, Rev. Lue Gene (Cathy) Wright, Lillie Mae (Harold) Suttle of Marion, Alabama, Walter James Wright of North Chicago, Illinois, Patricia Ann Wilder of Atlanta, Georgia, and Peggie Diane England , Alabama. Nine grandchildren - Lue David Suttle, Anna Bell Suttle, Alesia Yvonne (Chris) Wright-Johnson, Sara Annette Boykins-Brown, Reeci James Wright, Jeremy Tyrone (LaCrecia) Wright, Jarrele Lamar Wright, Theodore Wood Wilder, II, and Richard Oliver Hazell Wilder. Thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Three sisters - Dorothy Childs of Marion, Alabama, Mardella Lee of Waukegan, Illinois, and Delois Billingsley of Marion,  Alabama.
