Tanya Melton

Tanya Lekeisha Melton was born August 15, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph E. Melton and Lois H. Melton. Her father preceded her in death. Tanya went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2023 at USA Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.

Tanya accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Original Providence Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois.

Tanya worked in the Selma City School System as an educator. She loved working with children, cooking, reading. and decorating.

Tanya leaves to cherish a devoted mother, Lois H. Melton; one sister, Bernadette Lathan (Chicago, Illinois); two uncles, Cecil (Delois) Huff and Waymon (Helen) Melton; two aunts, Margaret Short and Glorious (Earnest) Wagner; a host of cousin’s other relatives and friends
