Timothy Heard Obituary

Timothy James Heard was born November 5, 1960 to John Henry Heard, Jr. And Gwendolyn Ezell Heard.  He went to live with the Lord on May 13, 2021, leaving a trail of tears and broken hearts.

Tim gave his life to Christ at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

As a teenager, Tim worked at a local ranch and was a real life cowboy!

Tim graduated from East Perry High School in 1978.  He was a ‘Skegee Tiger and matriculated at Tuskegee Institute.  Tim was always a hard worker, and after leaving Tuskegee Institute, he worked at Walmart as a Store Manager.  After a number of years at Walmart he later decided to become a Professional Truck Driver.  On the road he was known as “the man with the maps in his head”.  If you needed directions, Tim was the one to call!  To the truckers and his friends he was known as the “Alabama Wild Thang”.

Tim leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted Fiancée and the love of his life, Betty Crawford, Memphis , Tennessee; loving parents, John and Ezell Heard of Marion, Alabama; two precious daughters, Rotasha Heard and Ronita Brazil, both of Selma, Alabama; two   devoted brothers, John (Sarah) Heard, III, Marion, Alabama and Gregory (Marsha) Heard, Rosharon, Texas; two loving sisters, Pamela (Richard) Cosby, Marion, Alabama, and Sandra Hosea, Loganville, Georgia; a special sister Mary (Marcus) Moore, Marion, Alabama; one granddaughter, Azereia Wilson, and two grandsons, Trenton and Trevor Brazil; two children that he loved like his own, Kisha Miller and Marcus Miller, a special granddaughter, Kimaria Miller, and a          special grandson, Markelyn;  two aunts, Renee Stewart and Michelle Houston; six special aunts, Dorothy Cosby, Betty Walker, Nancy Norwood, Susie (Amzi) Griffin, Bertha Kennie, and Addie Woods; his barbecue buddy, Lee Morris (Sylvia) Vinson; his Trucker buddies, Willie Willams and Ellery Ford; his shop buddies, Derrick Cosby, Larry Cosby, and Ned Miree; his hunting and fishing buddies, Allen Grayson, Watt Grayson, and Ray Chambers; a host of loving nieces and nephews,  and more friends than we could fit on this program.  Tim was truly loved!
