Valerie Levette Smith was born on February 8, 1964 to Robert and Estell Smith. Valerie attended Francis Marion High School and graduated with the class of 1982. She attended Alabama State University. Growing up on the Hill everybody was always welcomed to come over, eat, play cards or simply just chill on the front porch. Valerie later moved to Atlanta , Georgia to build a life and became a valued Logistics Supervisor at Ballard Designs for 29 years, but Marion was always home. Valerie was a hard worker and she loved to have a good time but you could always catch her at home watching her favorite shows. Family and friendship was very important to her and she loved deeply. those who knew her especially Cynthia Billingsley. She even had her own special nicknames for her love ones (Joelean, Milla , Shake a Leg, Poot, Fat Punkin ect.) Valerie impacted the lives of everybody around her and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Valerie was a humble woman who was full of life with a beautiful smile and loving spirit. On Monday, August 1, 2022, Valerie transitioned into eternal rest to join her sister Stephanie Smith; grandmother Nancy Williams and niece Constance Harris.
