Walter Jones

Walter Louis Jones Sr. was born August 27, 1940, to the late Louise Jones and Ned Sanders. His mother later married and he gained another loving father named Willie Jones who also   preceded him in death. He was a proud student of the Perry   County and Beloit School System.
He spent most of his early years in Calvert with his  grandparents Gus Jones and Alberta Woods Jones in Mt. Vernon, AL.  As life went on he would confess his faith in Jesus Christ, and join Lily Grove Baptist Church. He served as a deacon under the leadership of the late Rev. L.S. Smith.  He was a very hardworking father and husband. Most of his life he worked jobs that required strenuous labor to adequately provide for his family. On July 6, 1963 he married the love of his life, Louise E. Goree. And with this union they shared 13 beautiful children. In his later years he united with the Union Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and matron’s bus driver.  He also served in the Christian Fellowship and mission with the late Rev Joseph Mason traveling to many states spreading the Word of Jesus.
He was preceded in death by sons: Walter L. Jones, Jr, Tracey Ivan, Baby Moore, brothers: Clarence Jones, Willie Jones, Sammie Jones, Olan Sanders, Sr., Tommie Ned Sanders, Lee   Edward Williams, sisters: Louise Jones and Bridget Townes, and a special cousins Eddie Collins Sr. He was also proceeded in death by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family friends.
Walter leaves to mourn a loving wife Louise G. Jones, his  loving children Jacqueline (Willie) Kynerd, Anthony Jones,   Wanda Jones, Callie Heard, Gwendolyn Jones, Christopher Jones, Shanarry Ford, Michelle M. (Elbert) Jones, and Crystal (Terrence) Hosea. He also leaves to mourn his brother Leroy (Dorothy)   Sanders, sister in laws: Linda Jones, Millie Jones, Viola Fralin and Willie A. Sanders. His brother in law James Goree. Special family: Sandra Cole, James Jr, Stanley Goree, Debbie, Al, and Eddie, and many more. Aunts: Esta- Mae Jones and Helen Jones Singleton. Special cousins Ruth (Walter) Holloman, Azeline Blocton, Betty Lewis, and Herbert McCants and families. He will also be cherished by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren.
He is also reunited with his special Aunts and Uncles Hugh Lee, Estelle Collins, Earnestine Gordon, Alberta Boykins, Walter, Johnny, Solomon, Otis, Jeremiah, Gus, Jimmy, and Billy.
