Charles Brown, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and nurse, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at Vaughan Regional Hospital in Selma, Alabama. Born on October 31, 1959, in Dallas County, Alabama, to Leanna Brown and the late LD Brown, Charles's life was a testament to his generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Charles's educational journey led him to Dallas County High School and later to the fulfillment of his calling in nursing, as he graduated from St. Jude Nursing School in Montgomery, Alabama. His career was marked by compassion and excellence, as he provided care and comfort to countless patients at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Kilby Prison, and many other medical facilities throughout Alabama. His colleagues and patients alike will remember him for his gentle manner and unwavering professionalism.
Growing up in the heart of Alabama, Charles was a beacon of light to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, LD Brown, and Sisters, Cathy Brims and Tina Brown.
Charles found his lifelong companion who is left to cherish his memories, Janie Eaton Brown, and together they nurtured a family filled with love and respect. Their children, Cassandra Brown, Anthony L. Brown, and Camilla Brown were his pride and joy, and he instilled in them the values of compassion and hard work. Charles was blessed with having a loving and caring mother, Leanna Brown. He was blessed with the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Kenderius Bradley, Ethan Brown, Camarrion Brown, Chris Shiyah McNeil, and Taylor Rose Jackson, who brought immense joy to his life. He also had the privilege of witnessing the growth of his three great-grandchildren; He also leaves behind his three sisters, Gwinn Brown (Ronald) Jackson, Pamela Caver, and Patricia Brown-Eaton; and three brothers, Larry (Joyce) Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Anthony Brown.; Sisters-in-law, Ethel(Henry) Moyd, Betty (Emmett) Walker, Mattie (Willie) Rose, Bobbie Eaton, and Jackie Eaton; brothers-in-law, Jimmie (Debbie) Eaton, Melvin Eaton, Charles Eaton, Johnny Eaton, Calvin( Faye) Eaton, Walter Eaton, and Curtis Rattler, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
